The International Gambling Institute, based at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, has named Dr. Les Golden of Oak Park, Illinois, a 2016 Scholar.
The International Gambling Institute, based at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, has named Dr. Les Golden of Oak Park, Illinois, a 2016 Scholar.
The Scholar program provides the recipient a cash honorarium as well as scholarly benefits. Golden will be presenting two papers at the 13th triennial Gambling and Risk Taking Conference to be held June 6-10, 2016, at the Mirage Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas. The naming of Golden as an IGI Scholar is based on his contributions as a columnist on blackjack, craps, and roulette for five UK-based gambling magazines since 2006 and his presentations to the Conference.
Les Golden has also received a contract from World Scientific Publishing Company for the book The Body Shapes of Extraterrestrials and Other Essays in Science and Mathematics. The book, which includes a large section on gambling games, will be published by WSPC in 2017.
