Do You Want To Be Fixed Or Healed?

John 4:15

“The woman saith unto him, Sir, give me this water, that I thirst not, neither come hither to draw.”

After being in so many relationships and trying to fix herself the Samaritan woman realized that she no longer wanted a fixing but a healing.  Looking, searching, desiring yet never receiving healing her condition of brokenness never changed.   She was trying to be restored to being whole again, but she was looking for restoration through relationships with men who could only offer her a temporary fix.  Until one day she went to the well to draw water but left healed.  When I read John 4:15 the Holy Spirit asked me this question, “Do you want to be fixed or healed?”  I realized that I was only getting temporary fixes through relationships because I never allowed Jesus to heal me.  The relationships I became involved in only mended my broken heart, but they could not heal it because my healing rested in the hands of my Savior. The woman at the well was looking for not only healing but attention to fulfill a void that was like a cup that has a hole in it.  The cup would never contain anything because it had an opening that allowed everything that was placed in it to run out.  How many times have the holes in your heart allowed the love that Christ was trying to show you and give you run out?  Jesus does not want to simply repair and fix your brokenness, but He desires to restore you. 

There is a difference between fixing and healing.  When something is fixed it is subject to break again, but when Christ heals you there is no room for breaking.  He restores you with wholeness and completeness.  The Samaritan women left Him feeling empowered.  Empowerment was something that none of the five men she had been involved with gave her.  She no longer needed to be fixed because Christ had eliminated the emptiness that she was feeling. She had come to the well to draw natural water but Christ was waiting to fill her spiritual draught. A draught that she felt that one of the five men could fulfill.  Just like she did we find ourselves drifting from one relationship to another longing for our cup to be fulfill but only leaving with a half filled cup. It only takes one meeting with Christ for your life to be transformed.  Until you have received healing from broken relationships you will never be able to be empowered to fulfill your God given purpose. God has a purpose for you, but the answer is not in relationships but it lays in one relationship, yours with Christ.

  Looking back on all my past relationships none of the men I was involved in offered me empowerment but one meeting with Christ I left His presence with a sense of worth and value.  I ask you today, do you want to be fixed or healed?  Christ is waiting to heal you.  Here are a few healing Scriptures for you to mediate on throughout the week:
