Interview with Christina Neely
When did you first start writing?
I first started writing in middle school writing short stories for friends and family.
What is the greatest joy of writing for you?
For me the greatest joy is coming up with the story. I tend to write fantasy where anything you can imagine can become a reality.
What's the story behind your latest book?
The four gems have been stolen and the Gatekeeper is using the Pillar of Light to sustain the world of El-Tepora. Elena an ordinary girl from Earth travels to the world of El-Tepora where she is told that she must save the dying world. Elena along with the prince El-Khan and his warrior best-friend El-Stev must journey across the world in search of the gems where they not only meet other allies but fight fierce enemies.
What do your fans mean to you?
My fans are awesome. I wouldn't be here without them.
What are you working on next?
I am currently working on The Golden Staff Saga: The Pillar of Water. It is the second book in the series where Elena and her company travel to the water world of Sysglow in search of the water gem.
Who are your favorite authors?
I'm a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, Christopher Pike and R.L. Stine
Do you remember the first story you ever wrote?
The first story I have ever written is titled; The Zoo Mystery. It's about a zoo that burns to the ground and the cause is never discovered. Fifty years later a group of children make it their mission to uncover the mystery.

When you're not writing, how do you spend your time?
There are quite a few things I enjoy. Including; spending time with family (including my pets), playing video games, watching movies.
What is your writing process?
I start writing the first thing that comes to my mind and let the story flow. I will write down story plots as I think of them to use later.
