The following was published in The C-T on April 4th, 2005:
For over 60 years, America has been on a permanent war footing. During the Falklands/Malvinas War, Reagan gave U.S. military support to Maggie Thatcher's British war against Argentina. And people died.
Reagan gave support to dictators in Iraq, Iran, El Salvador, Nicaraugua, Egypt, etc against citizen efforts for self-rule. And lots of people died.
Reagan waged pre-emptive war against Grenada because citizens voted for a president that he disapproved of. And people died.
Daddy Bush, then Clinton, added thousands to the body counts.
The U.S. wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are wrong. Pre-emptive war is unAmerican and the government's excuses for them are lies. The CIA installed the infamous Saddam in '62 and the sham democracy will be just as bad. Blair and Bush, with Kerry's vote, have killed tens of thousands of Iraqis and more than 1,500 Americans.
Our Founding Fathers taught us that British Empire was wrong. But American-powered British empire is the worst thing - and we need to collar the bulldog.
Maybe the Libertarian Party and the Green Party can help Iraqi civilians and U.S. veterans from what Bush and Kerry are doing to them?
