In every family there is some little something that may mean something to only one member of that family. That was the case when Wanda’s sister Pauline passed away.
There was a dainty little ring that was not costly but something of sentimental value. Pauline never wore it and Wanda liked it so much that Pauline said that she could have it and would bring it to her the next time that she visited.
Pauline went to visit Wanda but was so sick that she turned around and went home without staying for the planned visit. She had the little ring to give to her sister but was so sick that she didn’t think of it. Pauline passed away not too long after that and her personal belongings given to members of the family who wanted certain mementos.
Delores asked, “Wanda is there anything of Pauline’s that you would like to have?”
She answered, “Pauline told me I could have the little ring I liked so much. I would love to have that.”
The search was on, but the ring was gone. Its disappearance was a mystery.
Pauline’s son Bruce, and Delores went to clear out their mother’s apartment. They posted a note on the bulletin board that said all remaining items would be given away. The next morning the hallway was lined with the seniors that lived there, after all they were giving things away free! Finally, the job was completed and still no ring was found.
Pauline’s daughter went home after the job was complete, and thought the ring was gone forever. The phone rang; it was one of Pauline’s neighbors who had chosen to take a few purses. In going through one of them, she found a little ring and she thought that maybe it might mean something to the family. Dee explained they had searched for that ring and thought they would never see it again, and it meant the world to the family. The ring was returned by a kind Christian woman who had no idea how much that little ring meant to the family that Pauline had left behind. God takes care of even the smallest of details.
