The Endless Nightmare
The dream never seemed to come to an end. All night long Aadarsh reached up to pull down more yarn to add to the carpet he was weaving. All night long he added more rows to the developing creation, black, navy and charcoal.
When he awoke the dream continued, but the only difference was there was more variety in the yarn colors he was pulling down to add to the rapidly developing design. The colors maybe was more distinct but so was the pain. Discomfort from his cramped sitting position, nicks from tool cuts that if they bled on to the rug were doused with green chili juice from his employer. There was the burning sensation in his eyes which could later lead to a variety of eye infections. He also had a constant cough from the fine thread fibers that floated in the air. That sound echoed all around him from similar child laborers. We won’t even go in to detail about the heat, humidity, inadequate food and exercise.
When evening came and Aadarsh curled up on his loom to sleep the nightmare continued but this time he saw a developing pattern not of his own making. A thread of silvery white was showing up throughout his workmanship. As he continued a message gradually appeared in fine delicate script. Krishna se bacha lena. (Jesus saves.)
Aadarsh had no idea who Krishna was, but the message was strangely comforting and he hoped to someday find Him.
Our life is like the weaving on a loom. Each day a few rows are added. For many of us—I wish I could say all—the first few rows, which represent our childhood, the ‘work’ is easy and many bright designs appear, but gradually it can become more subdued, monotonous…and worse.
However, in every life there seems to be some remarkable experiences that point to a Higher Power. Do you recognise the fine writing on the loom of your life? Have you had experiences that are hard to explain? Perhaps God is trying to point you to Him.
