"LITER BEACH" painting by Guy Colwell

One of my main painting mentors; Guy Colwell who was on the Great Peace March for Nucleur Disarmanent when I was on it while writing for the Coranado Journal Newspaper.  We walked across America..20 miles a day..then we each put up a tent at night if noone had stolen our tent!!

I was on the march the last 3 months.. others were on it a year or more.

Guy Colwell helped me have my 1st two artshows in Berkeley CA at the Cafe Med on Telegraph Avenue and in my Art Studio in a UC Berkeley student building where I lived..It was located across from "Peoples Park".

Some of Guy Colwells Art with crowded groups of people fill me with a great need for nature..trees, to smell flowers, see birds in flight and to walk through forests..to restore a balance my soul needs!

The painting of Guys; "THE ABUSE" caused an art gallery to close due to violent reactions to it...the art gallery owner's life was threatened.

Guy did not enlist and spent two years in prison because of his refusal to go to war. He painted proficially while in prison.

Guy Colwells depiction of women in his comic books caused a huge uproad in feminist communities.. His art could be shocking.
