There is an old saying that goes back to the penning of “ a Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens, that Scrooge hates Christmas, but that simply is not true . Christmas is his favorite time of the year, and the beginning of the American Christmas season , Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is his favorite day, that’s when all the multi national corporations Jack up their prices for the sake of the filthy lucre , the same filthy lucre The Holy Bible talks about , the Baby 👶 in the Manger is all forgotten about. That’s the reason I shop online, between Halloween and Thanksgiving, and I still say Merry 🎄Christmas. 🎁. I remember celebrating 🥳 here at home with my grandparents , uncle and his family years ago. Now my grandparents and uncle are gone, and I usually go to my nephew and his wife’s house and celebrate with them and their 👧 little girl.
But this Black Friday nonsense has no place in my celebration, because it’s just that, nonsense, and hyper commercialized nonsense that is part of the industrial revolution, and has nothing to do with Christmas and its true meaning

For Christians, Christmas should be Jesus. For the rest of us, Christmas should be a time of family gathering, something I miss now that I'm thousands of miles away and unable to get there like I used to, driving in all kinds of weather.
As far as buying goes, I buy very little because I have no place to put anything more and don't really need anything more, just sometimes, something better. Promotions and sales never fazed me. I generally shop for what I need when I need it, glad that I'm not obligated to shower my absent children with trinkets during the season in order to keep up with the Jones.
