OK, I'll freely admit that 22 years ago when this snuff film first came out I was impressed, but my minister who served my church after this Elder Thompson, who has since been called home. told me the TRUTHBabout this movie, first off there is the gratuitous violence, this is obvious, then there is the spoken languages. Three dead or dying languages , Aramaic, Hebrew. And Latin, I want to focus on the third one. During the 1300s into the early 1500s the official language of the Roman catholic church was Latin and the languages of the common people of Europe were English, French, German. Etc
The earliest protestant reformers gave their lives to get the gospel and bible translated to the many non Latin dialects of the common Europeans. Men like Luther. Calvin and others, and centuries later here comes a slickster named Mel Gibson and tries to reverse all that

IT WAS THE MAMY LANGUAGE CAPTIONS IN THE PASSION MOVIE THAT MADE GIBSON SO MUCH MONEY. VERY FEW PEOPLE ARE SCHOLARS IN LATIN ARAMAIC AND HEBREW
