Two Americans were kidnapped from Egypt but they hijacked an Iraqi airplane and landed in the wetern region of Afghanistan. This is their story of desperate struggle to escape the war-torn Afghanistan.

"Zhora, I have something to tell you."
"What is it, Kathryn?" Zhora walked out her rose garden, rubbing her hands to remove the fresh dirt on her hands.
"I don't know how to begin," Kathryn said.
"Let us sit over there on the bench under the mulberry tree," Zhora said, walking ahead of them to the bench.
"Rashid made this bench. He likes to work with woods."
"That's wonderful," David said. "That's what I want to do when I retire."
"It's a good hobby," said Rashid. They all sat on the old bench.
"We have been held here against our will and I am sorry that I lied to you," Kathryn apologized. but she felt relieved greatly. "It is a long story. We were kidnapped from Egypt by Egyptian jihad bound for Baghdad, Iraq. But we escaped in an Iraqi airplane."
Both Rashid and Zhora looked dumbfounded. "Oh my God!" Zhora covered her mouth with her hands. She looked utterly terrified.
"But because of the sudden turn of event, David and I met. I don't regret anything."
"Khan and Aini used me to organize and train a commando unit. I couldn't refuse. But we will leave for the States in September," David said to Rashid.
"Why do you have to wait until September?" Rashid asked.
"We made a deal with Aini not to reveal anything to anyone. In addition, we did not want to risk our lives. One year wil not kill us."
"Why don't you leave with us?"
"Iranians will throw us into prison," David said. "Here we have limited freedom, but it is better than sitting in a jail somewhere in Iran. Besides. Aini's people always follow us whereever we go."
"We have only three more months to go," Kathryn said to Rashid. "David has a daughter. She was living with her mother in Charleston, South carolina, but we believe they might have moved to San Francisco."
"I'd like to ask you a favor," David looked at Rashid. "I want you to find her and tell her that I will see her in October. And another favor. David smiled. "Call Kathryn's mother and tell her she is safe."
