Reaction to a negative religon
The story "Lonely Man" was a bit of an exaggeration of my own early life. I was a near fanatic in my very narrow view of religion.
My brother and sister each reacted differently to this unpleasant religion.
My little sister stayed with it and raised her children that way. Her daughter rejected religion as a result. Her son has become a near fanatic minister. His kids??? Too young to say.
My brother is not atheistic, but will argue against everything that even hints at religion. He has spent his life in the field of education having earned 3 PhD's. (He would not accept the last one - didn't want to spend 5 years teaching in that field.)He married a Chinese girl who is a follower of Confucius. There are no children.
As for me, GOD worked with me moderating my way until I could know and understand what it was that HE had planed for me.
I learned to pray as a fanatic, but I found out that prayer worked in other ways as well. I wanted to see GOD, to know HIS personality, HIS ways, everything. I prayed hard and long. And my prayer was answered. I saw GOD. The knowledge I received cannot be explained. There were no words, just a vast understanding.
I then prayed for Truth. I asked to know truth. I didn't care where it came from, it just had to be true , and I had to know it was true .
The answer to this came much sooner than it did for my first prayer. As before, much came without words. Much cannot be told, for those who have seen these things would understand, the rest - I don't know. I feel much the frustration that Jesus felt in His ministry for much of the same reasons.
I suppose this could be summed up in a short sentence:
Truth exists in all things, 'Not Truth' exists in all things. GOD helps us sort this out.
Please keep me in your prayers.
My prayers follow you.
