Man's relation to GOD and the Universe

Just some passing thoughts on a previous discussion on religion, and my relation to it. I have purposely left out the name of the religion I am involved with, for others will find similar results in their own search and in their own religion..

As you know, most of my "religion" is based on Perhaps I should say, "----- is the closest to that which I have discovered in my search for truth." As such, ----- will be my major place of effort.

I have had a published article on truth in which I attempted to explain how Truth is fluid - it being different for each of us. Ultimate Truth is beyond our capacity to absorb. Our cranial capacity is approximately equivalent to that of a six-inch ball of bone. The Universe is a wee bit bigger than that, and so it is impossible to absorb more than a six-inch impression of that vast expanse called the Universe. We can do amazing things with our six-inch ball of bone, but are severely limited when it is expected to encompass the totality of the Universe.

Reality is much more than what we can "see". Much of the Universe is unseen. Religion has made a big thing out of a portion of the unseen (or spiritual) part of the Universe. The spiritual part is every bit as real as the air we breathe but do not see. It is not easily put into a box nor described completely, but is often seen at the edge of vision. Using scientific methods, experiences in the spiritual realm can be and are reproducible. The scientific method works when all things are equal every time they are tried. Things of a spiritual nature will react in the same way when all circumstances are the same. This is adequate proof for any thinking individual who has not previously pre-judged the event.

As viewed from space, there are no geopolitical markings visible, no religious ideologies visible, almost NO indication that man is even on this planet (exception: lights are visible from the night side of the world).

Man is of little importance when viewed from the bigger picture. Yet we feel ourselves to be the epitome of creation - superior to all else in the world if not in the universe. A child at birth has no preset opinions on what is truth or who to love or hate. He has the ability to learn, to absorb, to love, and to become almost anything we humans are taught, are capable of becoming. We feel we are the ultimate life form because we are taught that as a "truth".

Perhaps man is important beyond other life forms - perhaps not. Man does have the ability to think beyond the normal three dimensions, and to think in a more-or-less rational manner. Using that ability to think rationally is (or at least should be) necessary to understand things of a spiritual nature.

To start at the beginning should be acceptable. The beginning was the Big Bang or so the current scientific theories indicate. The Universe began as a swarm of various energies which spun off into eleven dimensions according to the studies of higher mathematicians. As humans we are familiar with three - perhaps four - of those dimensions. Of the remaining unknowns - what is contained therein?

We know life exists for we are here. We know that the life we experience has three dimensions - perhaps four depending on how you consider time. Are there life forms that expand into other dimensions which would be godlike from our perspective? Are there life forms that began at the time of the Big Bang and are still existing somewhere in the universe of eleven dimensions? Did that/those life forms bring about other "lesser" life forms of maybe three dimensions? Hindu legend tends to support this idea. (Legends
have a reason to be, reasons often long forgotten.)

Life exists. There is no question of that fact. Excluding outer space for now, life exists everywhere upon this earth that has been explored, and probably exists in many places we have not explored. The UFO experiences - if true - do indicate life far beyond our planetary neighborhood. Logic would indicate life existing in the vastness of space. There is just too much possibility for it not to be so. At present, there is no real "proof" of this, only a logical look at the idea.

I assume a life form of a higher dimension would be GOD who, for some reason, has taken an interest in this sector of life. By the same reasoning, a technologically advanced space traveling race would appear as gods to early humans. Legend has a multitude of gods in ancient times. It is important to realize legends have their beginnings in some reality that has been forgotten and only exists in legendary form having been passed by word of mouth.

A possible / probable beginning of a legend would have been an actual contact with a higher dimensional being - with godlike qualities - who had some type of positive interaction with humans. This being would be a God as described in subsequent Holy Writ.

Another possible beginning would be the space traveler who had communication with early humans. I feel this latter is a very good probability. A multitude of gods should indicate a multitude of contacts with god-like beings such as early space travelers. Perhaps there have been both types of contact. (I accept this as the best probability.)

Many of these legends have been written into book form. Different cultures have different books which are considered Holy. My culture has the Bible. Is one Holy Book better than any other?? Wars have been fought over this question and still it goes unanswered.

Each book has its strong points which draws followers to it. They also have weaknesses readily pounced upon by their adversaries. Various interpretations cause a lot of argument followed by war. This is the story of religion. Religion is man made, often politically expedient.

Physical space-men "gods" are mentioned obliquely in the Old Testament. I am fairly certain they had a great deal to do with early genetics regarding humans as well as certain plants and animals used by early man.

Then there is the higher dimensional being who took an interest in this section of the universe. This would be the One responsible for the nonphysical portion of life - the things of the spirit. This One is the being I refer to as GOD. This would be the only One described by various religions, and that One is in all things due to the ultidimensionality of that Being.

Physical matter is frozen energy which is a natural result of the cooling process following the Big Bang.

The being I call GOD was, and is, energy interspersed in three-dimensional matter because matter / energy was, and is, everywhere. Portions of that Being disconnected from itself and took on aspects of three dimensional matter, matter being frozen energy (remember E=mc2?). Why this happened is another question which I cannot go into at the present time.

That Being is spiritual in nature, and did accept for itself certain connections and restrictions into the physical world. Legend (read the Bible) says that man was created in the image and likeness of God. (Legend has a reason for its existence.) This tells me we are made of "God-stuff", and GOD ain't physical. This creates a paradox because anybody can see that we are physical beings. I interpret this to be a god-like being in a physical shell or physical body that is not very permanent. That god-like being is no more than an extension of the greater Being. Those physical shells are us - you and me. The total "you" is the spiritual extension enclosed in physical matter. The innermost part of you is the essence of God. In other words, we are the image of God in a human body.

Many observed so-called powers of the mind are no more than our own innate God ability naturally resident within each one of us. Those who refuse to accept their natural inner abilities will not develop nor be able to use them. Those who do accept them must develop and become responsible for the use - and possible misuse of those abilities. Otherwise, those abilities will remain undeveloped, useless to the point of having no value. As with any discipline, it is necessary to increase one's abilities through study, training, more study, more training until one is finally proficient in that discipline. A medical doctor is the perfect example of the need for intense training and practice.

The God within manifests as thought. Non-directed thoughts will neutralize each other. Directed thought is prayer. Concentrated directed thought releases the God power of our mind. It can be spectacular.

I see myself as one who has spent a lot of time studying in a discipline where there are few to show me the way to my goal. Many are learning as am I, but there are no great teachers here at the present time. There are writings and legends available, all of which contain a portion of that which is so valuable to me and to others like me.

The studies I have done have taken me on a journey which has gone through several disciplines, each of which has taught me what was available from that discipline. Not one of those disciplines has been complete.

----- is the closest to what I have learned so far. ----- does not have the final answer, but is closer than any I have visited to date. My search continues.

----- is a stream in which a child can play or can be a challenge to strong swimmer. It is a discipline designed to bring out the God-like abilities we all possess and bring them to usefulness. It is designed to bring its followers the contentment that "religion" offers. ----- does not decree itself to be the only "way" for there are an almost infinite number of ways - one way for each and every one of us.

This is why there are so many religions, each trying to explain a way that some founder has discovered for himself and tried to pass along to his followers.

For now ----- is my chosen path to GOD. It explains the concept of GOD at the core of our beings in ways I have not found before.

It helps to make the hard ideas which I have contemplated more understandable.

It makes the "path" to GOD an inner path/search for reality. It does not give me the path nor the entrance to my inner core, just helps me find direction to that core. The search and journey is my responsibility, mine and mine alone.
