Inconsistency Of Belief

You’re dying!

I am?

And you should be afraid.

I should?

Yes – you are going to Hell.

I am?

Of course – you are evil, a monstrous sinner.

Why am I evil, or a sinner?

Because you don’t believe in my god.

And just who is your god?

My god is the supreme god, ruler of everything.

And your god is better than any other god?

Of course!

And why is your god better than all other gods?

Because I believe in him, because I had a wonderful experience with him, because the preacher said he was best, because I have faith.

If you accept your god being better than all other gods, then there must be other gods.

No, no, no, there is only one god and he is better than all the others.

And that god of yours has declared me to be an evil sinner and will send me to hell if I do not accept what you are telling me?

Yes, now you understand.

And why am I such a sinner? What have I done that is so evil?

Because you don’t believe in my god. You follow a different God. There is no other god greater than my god, and he said you are a sinner that deserves hell for not believing.

Your god said I am a sinner . . . how did he convey this information to you?

The preacher said so.

And there is no other god greater than your god?

That is right.

And if your god is the greatest, who are the lesser gods?

There are no other gods, only my god who is the greatest.

And how do you know this?

The preacher told me so.

And who told the preacher?

Why, god himself told him.

Why can’t god tell you direct?

That is impossible, I am unworthy, a great sinner.

And you being a great sinner are not going to Hell?

Of course not! I am a believer!

And I don’t believe?

NO!

Are you sure?

Of course, you are a sinner.

Who said so?

I said so. The preacher said so.

The preacher does not know me so how can he pre-judge me?

God told him.

And he knows that I do not believe in your god?

Right.

And your god is greater than all other gods?

Right.

But he is the only god there is?

Of course.

Greater than all other gods?

Right.

Hmmmmmmm.
