I just read that to stop Global Warming it is needed to pay 45 trillion dollars, to whom?

All those called scientist...where were them when the mile thick ice started to melt leaving first France bare when the Mediterranean sea was just a pond of water and you could nearly go from Sicily to Africa just a few hundred yards away, no one said a peep about that, when the water started to raise and people needed to move their tents to higher ground (several times!)

Suddenly they discovered that under all that happy snow were the Alps, and beyond, as the mile high thick ice receeded, the people moving there (it was Oktober in what they called Germany) and they got drunk with beer because they didn't need to shovel that damn snow in front of their caves anymore.
The freezin asses world was getting warmer, and a couple of Shamans open their mouth to talk about Global Warming, but they couldn't blame anybody for it, so, one kept his mout shut and survived, the other wasn't that smart and didn't.

The Vikings were deligted when the mile high thick ice finally took a hike and settle down on the North Pole so they could get their ships ready to sail on the ice free oceans (the first viking ship, the Titan, wasn't so lucky, hit a ice cube and sank like you won't believe and vikings were known as a no good swimmers, so...)
The happy Vikings when to burn british villages (the limeys deserve it, poor builders as they are) taking all the blondes they could and gold, silver and a kitchen-sink if they had found one)

The world had gone warming for twelve thousand years without anybody crying uncle! until a smart ass found a new confidence game GLOBAL WARMING, gimme money, grants, researches, speech tours, an Oscar for showing a dead penguin, and blame all of it on pipe and cigar smokers, on lasses hair-spry, on car, buses, airplanes, coal, fosil fuel...but what about vulcanoes? those that spew 47 billion tonnes of CO2 up your chimney? and there are quite few of them.
But the con men know better, "we need money to save the world" "we need to stop eating meat because cows produce more CO2 than cars" "just give us the money man...we know better"

If you are one of those souls conned to jump into their wagon, ask your self about why the Global Warming as been going on for twelve thousand years and who's to blame for it?
And who's to be blame for the next Ice Age when you could go skiing around the Egypt pyramids?

Now we come to that nagging question, you can pollute only if you buy a "Pollution Quota" but how that will reduce pollution if everybody is paying for doing it?
And that 45.000.000.000.000,99 U$S who gonna get it?
That's a big cake and I want a slice of it, damn it!

Climate changes have happened since the beginning and are truly cyclical. Maybe we are hastening the next one a bit with our polluting ways, but, as you point out, volcanos pump out tons more of the stuff than all the cars could ever do. The good news is you and I won't be around to see it's fruition.

Right on, Georg! Going back 18 thousand years, we see Arizona and eastern California (what is desert now) as marshlands and forests, wetlands from the drainage of the withdrawing North American glaciers. The oceans were rising. San Francisco Bay was hills and rolling meadows. Coastlines were changing, and they will change some more. There is nothing new about the cycle of global warming - except that wannabe moguls have found a way to call it a New Crisis, and to turn it into a monumental cash-cow. I'm like you -- Where's Mine :-)

"That's a big cake and I want a slice of it, damn it!" I'd settle for some of the crumbs, Georg! But you are right about the probable waste of taxpayers monies! What can one expect when we have one of the big Jokers as our U.S.EPA? A Fed Agency led by an "Administrator" who is appointed by the President? Better the money go to Temp. Employees that will pick up all the trash around the country. At least there'd be money recouped in Income Tax, S.S., and Recyling. But then the Big Pockets wouldn't get filled. Thanks for the article, you've raised my B.P. as I read...yet something we need to keep on the front burner.

Folks that's TRILLION and it will have an impact on every facet of your lives and pocketbooks. Don't let these dems pass this bill next year it is sunk this year as it was just a feeler by the dems to see what they need to correct next time around. With a dem president they will ram it through unless you stop them.

...I believe there is much truth in what you have written here Georg.
I guess if enough passing the buck would continue to go around for another twelve thousand years...there would we enough funds to take care of it all.

Global warming is like reading horoscopes ... everybody can identify with something in them (if they look closely). Thank you for pointing out what should be obvious to all rationally thinking minds.
Unfortunately, the bigger the lie; the more gullible people become.

Actually, although I believe there is now Global Warming (I can tell by watching various animals and insects), our own gluttonous over-harvesting, over-fishing, and massive air, land, and water pollution will kill us off before Mother Nature does.

We humans need no help from nature to be our own worst enemies. And very sadly, like everything else, there are those who will make millions 'helping.'
