Abuse

Teddy
Written: November 4, 2005

She never really had any friends except one-
And he’d been there since the abuse had begun.
Teddy was always willing to listen to her tears-
And comfort her from all of her fears.

But no matter what, Teddy couldn’t keep Daddy away-
Though at night, this is for what she’d pray.
Everyday she and Teddy would have their special talks-
She knew it was one less day on their friendship clock.

Daddy became angrier by the day-
If he wasn’t allowed to have his way.
He told her that she was always his-
“You always will be. I don’t care who Teddy is!”

He promised to kill her and take her away-
If another word to Teddy she was to ever say!
She said she’d never stop talking to her friend-
Because Teddy promised to be there to the end!

Daddy became so mad-
Enough! Enough he’d had!
He screamed and slapped her so hard she hit the wall-
Her blood spraying on Teddy (Bear)-her friendly little doll.

She would talk to Teddy no more-
As her body was later discovered on the bedroom floor.
But Teddy took his place beside his best friend-
In the little casket-he’d said he’d be with her to the end!
