I love circles. To me, circles are the most intriguing and, at the same time, the most mysterious of all geometric shapes. Whenever we place things into the realm of eternity, we always refer to circles.  For example; a person who is “going in circles” never finds an answer; love is a “never ending circle,” means the same as love is eternal; “a circle of friends,” indicates relationships that we consider permanent, and so on.

“Coming full circle” is a phrase which also has its roots in permanence.  When one has come full circle, he comes back to the point from which he started.  However, no reference to coming full circle applies to reaching an end, because a circle can have infinite beginnings and not one single ending.  Just draw a circle on a piece of paper.  The point from which you begin to draw a circle can be its beginning point, but once you have closed the circle, where is the end?  It has none!

Once a circle is complete, it becomes never ending.  You can even draw a small period to intersect at any point on a circle, trace around the circle back to the point from which you started tracing, and still you will see no end to the circle.  You will only come full circle to the point from which you started.  Keep drawing periods around your circle and tracing full circles from each point, and soon you will have a circle full of many beginnings without one single ending.

Continue to make intersection periods and traces around your circle; do you begin to pass previous periods that you have made?  Have you ever had a feeling of deja vu? As you make more periods and traces, you will pass over previous ones.  These repetitions also make circles and coming full circle so intriguing.  Each of our lives is a single circle.  The circles will have many points of beginning but not one point of ending.  The multitude of period points of beginning leave a residue of recollection that we will observe from time to time, causing us to reflect on having been there before.  And you have!
