Where Is God When I Need Him? By Henry Miranda 2/17/2015 Psalms 42:3 (NKJV) "My tears have been my food day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your God?” How many times have you said that? We all think that when we need something God is not there to hear our need. We think that our needs are very important most of the time, and we want to hear from God right away! But God knows the right time for everything. We have all seen pictures of little birds in a nest with their beaks open waiting for the mother bird to feed them crying out and desperately searching for her. I think that’s the way some Christians are waiting for God to take care of all their needs and afraid of stepping out of their comfort zone. That’s not the way it works in Christianity! We need to do the things that God has assigned for us to do. We have to do whatever it takes to continue on the path that God has set before us. Maybe we don’t hear from God because he is waiting for us to make the next move. You're troubled, so you pray. You're distressed, so you cry out for God to bring you quick relief. But all you hear in reply is silence. One of the most difficult times we have as Christians is when God seems silent. And the fact is, those times when God seems silent are usually when we think we need Him to speak the most. God is often silent to us during times of trial You don't need a large library to know your experience is common. Just turn through the pages of your Bible, especially the Psalms, and you’ll read several distressed cries waiting for God to act or respond. Do you ever feel like God is nowhere to be found? Have you ever poured your heart and soul out to Him, only to be left with nothing but silence? Does it ever seem that every time you take a step of faith, you are faced with something that contradicts it? Have you ever felt like God should have been there and He wasn’t; He could have helped, and He didn’t? The question we must ask ourselves is not, “Where is God when we need Him?” but “where is our faith?” Faith is the belief that God knows what is best and that He wants what is best for us, even when everything around us causes us to doubt that. We will always experience doubt in the midst of our faith, but we must be determined to trust God at all times. We make choices in life every moment of every day, and we must make a choice as to whether we will trust God or not. It doesn't matter if your struggle is about finances (or lack thereof) a broken heart, family issues, or health problems. Waiting on God is difficult, and you can't help but wonder if the breakthroughs you hear preached and prophesied are actually going to manifest for you. Remember that whether you’re struggling with rocky relationships, unexpected crises, or health issues, the Lord is faithful to hear your heart’s cry and will be there for you no matter what. Would you like to get saved and born again? You can by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Just Pray and ask Jesus to come into your heart. Let heaven be your destiny.
