We must walk worthy, adopting a lifestyle which is truly in the will of God. We are not to live in doubt and uncertainty. Jesus does not, after giving us general directions, leave us to guess the way. He leads us in a straight path.

The Christian Pathway By Henry Miranda 02/06/2015 Psalms 32:8 (NKJV) “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye”. We always find that when we take a walk thru the woods someone has already laid a path before us. Jesus has laid a path for us to get to our destination which is to be with him. We need to follow that path which has been laid out for us. When we were in the world we walked the pathway of the world which is everything that draws you away from God. When we turned our life around to follow Jesus, we started on a different path. The path that we travel on as Christians may be difficult and hard at times because the Christian pathway is beset with a lot of difficulties. But Jesus promised us that we would never be alone. He said, "Surely, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age!" Blinders are put on horses so they can just look straight ahead and not side to side this way they’re not distracted from either side. As Christians, we need to keep our eyes looking forward on the pathway that God has directed us. If you look for any other guidance than Jesus then you have left the pathway which God has set out for you. When you were in the world you were in darkness, but now you are of the light. God has shined a light to guide you on your pathway. Once you start your walk towards God you don’t want to look back. Jesus said “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God." As Christians, we must be pressing on to our final goal and we cannot deviate from the path that God has set before us. You might wonder as to what is your direction or understanding of your path, that’s where the Holy Spirit comes in, He is your guide. Sometimes we hear a lot about spiritual guides, but you have to be careful because there are demonic guides that will take you away from God. That is why it is so important to always read the Scriptures and be in constant prayer so you will not be led off your pathway. We have the comforter the Holy Spirit to guide us, for he is our teacher, director and counselor to help us stay on the right path towards God. That we shall not be left to wander, self-directed, in the paths of sin into which our feet have strayed, but that the Spirit of God shall dwell within us, breaking our bondage and leading us into that other pathway of good works, which God has prepared that we should walk in. One is not led when he goes his own way. It is only when an influence distinct from himself determines our movements that we can properly say we are led. When Paul, therefore, declares that the sons of God are "led by the Spirit of God," he emphasizes, first of all, the distinction between the leading Spirit and the led sons of God. As much as this he declares with great emphasis – that there is a power within us, not ourselves, that makes for righteousness. And he identifies this extraneous power by the Spirit of God. The Holy Spirit, is a power dwelling in our bodies and that power that dwells in us gives motives and strength and everything needed to stay on the pathway that God has set before us. The Holy Spirit is an active agent in our progress towards God. We can enjoy the gracious ministry of the Holy Spirit as we believe God’s word and yield to the Holy Spirit. We do things through the power of the Holy Spirit rather than through our own abilities. There’s only one path that can lead to heaven. And just because it seems difficult at times, it doesn’t mean you will not make it. Because all you have to do is lean on Jesus and he will carry you most of the way. For we are fragile people, we are weak on our own, but through Jesus, we are strong because he gives us the strength to overcome all obstacles that come against us. The Holy Spirit is God’s guidance for our lives. God’s guidance implies that we live according to the path which he has laid down for us so that our lives have a purpose in the present as well as a destiny for the future. Because we have a destiny we become pilgrims. The New Testament explicitly tells us that we are pilgrims one Peter 1:1. As Christian we have a purpose and a destiny. And that is to follow the path that God has laid out for us. The Holy Spirit is to guide our lives so that it may reflect the glory of his son. People are too willing to believe their teachers without careful thought and prayerful investigation of God's word. One of the last promises which the Savior gave to His disciples was, may the Lord strengthen you with all might, according to His glorious power—"that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please Him in every way—bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God!"
