Lawrance, this is a touching story written in the "fables of old" tradition we all loved as children (the ones with mythic undertones), and which I so sorely miss. Its message is uncluttered, direct and comforting, and told in a way that would easily appeal to a wide range of age groups and cultures. Kudos for creating a story with imagination, warmth and pathos, and for fashioning a discernible God filled with the charming gruff and big-heartedness of Father Christmas. After reading this, how could we not remember wishing as children that we could sit for hours in His fatherly lap, basking in the glow of His heavenly love?
