Know something? I’m soon going to be 61!
OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sixty-one years old and what have I done with my life.
Well, let me think. That is more of a challenge then it used to be.
I worked in radio for a while as a DJ then went into Ad sales.
I married a marvelous woman who I still love after 36 years of marriage.
I fathered and like to think that I helped raise three great kids to adulthood.
Now I am Grandpa (or as the grandkids call me, Papa.)
I never became rich and famous except
For the little bit of fame being a local DJ brought me.
I had a heart attack at the age of forty.
It’s not fun… I don’t recommend it.
But all in all, I have been blessed with the love
Of a God who knows my faults and failures and loves me anyway.
He sent me a wife who has those same feelings.
Has my life amounted to anything?
Don’t ask me; ask my wife, kids or grandkids.
They are prejudiced by love so I will get a raving review.
Moreover, I am blessed by God to know who I am.
I am his. I am a person, who bungles a lot,
Forgets way too much and cannot ever pretend to be perfect.
Yet, my Lord will never let me out of his arms without reaching for me.
“Come to me,” he calls. “And I will give you rest.”
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
Praises to God on High.
Very reflective of a life well lived and yet to be. 61 is just the beginning of what I call stage six.

God Bless you...

Laugh and the world laughs with you
Cry and you cry alone
For the sad old earth must borrow its mirth
It has trouble enough of its own
It seems to me you did well - you served the Lord
We are all here for the same purpose -
That is sufficient enough for The Master
