These are contemplations I felt compelled to share.

“How bout that!” I exclaimed to myself. “It’s snowing in Hawaii and here in Maryland it is fifty-nine degrees. The rain has ended but it’s January. That should have been snow. My wife has a bush planted in the yard and the poor thing is really mixed up. It thinks its spring and is beginning to bloom.

They are calling for more seasonal weather next week. I only hope the poor plant can readjust itself. The first really cold frost is going to cause those blooms to wither.

“That’s life,” I continued to contemplate. Sometimes there is simply no rhyme or reason. People are blaming it on global warming and though I do think that is a real problem we need to work on for the sake of our kids and theirs, I really do not believe that is what is causing this unseasonably warm weather in January. If it were global warming why are they having blizzards out west?

I am reminded by something Jesus Christ said. “Who among you by worry can add one day to your life?” That’s not word for word but it is what he meant. We find ourselves caught up in the worries of the world and forget that a better world is coming.

I truly believe we should live our lives like the way we live can change the future but I also understand that too often this will not happen. The important thing is do we have the faith to try.

There are all kinds of polls taken by the media which find that most believe in God in one form or another but it is the non-believers who seem to have control. The very fact that the world is going the way our Lord told us it would says something. It tells me that our faith is not strong enough and we allow ourselves to be separated by differences which make us not a collective voice to annunciate the word of God.

Why is it we argue over trivia and do not dwell on what we have in common? I believe in Jesus. This does not mean I will judge Jewish people, or Moslems or any one of the many denominations of Christianity. Why do I not judge the Jews? Jesus was a Jew. Let us not forget that. The Jewish leaders were made blind by God so that we may believe in Christ and thus come to the father. Therefore, I will let God be the judge.

The Moslems started out Jewish. It was during the time of Abraham that they broke away. I will let God judge them also. I want to live in peace and love.

Judgment does not allow love to thrive because it stands in the way. Let us all pray that one day God will bring us all together again to make a collective voice. One that will cry out, “Lord we accept your will. We want to be part of your kingdom.
