The first part of this is not my writing. I did add some thoughts toward the end. The bottom line is that we need to put some pressure on our elected representatives to make some adjustments. We need to work along with them. The solution may not be easy but it has to start with each of us.

Global warming is one of the most serious challenges facing us today. To protect the health and economic well-being of current and future generations, we must reduce our emissions of heat-trapping gases by using the technology, know-how, and practical solutions already at our disposal.

The map of early warning signs clearly illustrates the global nature of climate changes. In its 2001 assessment, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) concluded that, an increasing body of observations gives a collective picture of a warming world and other changes in the climate system."

While North America and Europe—where the science is strongest—exhibit the highest density of indicators, scientists have made a great effort in recent years to document the early impacts of global warming on other continents. Our map update reflects this emerging knowledge from all parts of the world.

Although factors other than climate may have intensified the severity of some of the events on the map, scientists predict such problems will increase if emissions of heat-trapping gases are not brought under control.

          Jesus once said “Let he who has eyes see.”  We are fighting a battle that many people are not taking seriously for many reasons.  The one reason the troubles me most is the one held by those who truly believe these are the last days so why bother?

          Think about this.  If the Lord comes and finds us sitting complacently without trying to improve things here on Earth will he embrace us and make us a part of his Kingdom?  It is more likely he will say, “Depart from me for I know you not.”  We should live as if it depends upon Christ but we should work as if it depends upon us.  Keep in mind that one of God’s days is much longer than ours.  What will your grandchildren and theirs have to live with if we sit and do nothing about a growing problem for the whole planet?
