Here is something for us each to consider. Jesus said a day to God is a thousand years. If he meant that literally and was not speaking figuratively it means my life lasts just a little under two minutes to God. Does that make you small? I am 61 years old. To God I am here and gone in just under two minutes.
That is not really what I am writing about but you must admit it is an attention getter. The fact is that many who teach evolution as an alternative to the creation story should give some consideration to the true st facts reported in the scriptures. It also means those of us who were raised to believe in God and his Son Jesus Christ who was the word; and the word was with the father through all of creation should also open our minds.
Here is the interesting part. According to the scripture it took 7,000 of our years just to fulfill the creation of the world. God created the Heavens and the Earth in seven days. Seven of his days equal just that. Now we know the Earth has been here for a long time. The creation was not as simple as drawing a figure in the sand. He must have worked diligently to bring about life. He has been working very hard ever since trying to create in our hearts the ability to love as he has loved us.
Here is another thought. Jesus died on the cross the day before yesterday in the eyes of God. Only two days have passed since then.
What does this mean to us as Christians? I believe it means do not try to guess the coming of the Messiah. Do not be provoked by the direction the world has taken. Do not let your guard down for we know not exactly what God’s time line is.
Keep the Faith and believe. Know that although our lives are but a flash in the eyes of our creator our souls will soon know time in a much different way than we can now imagine.
To my Christian friends who claim these are the last days I agree with you. However I also know that a day to God is not as short as our days. This means Jesus could come tonight or there may be many generations come and go before his arrival.
Our best solution is to live each day as a day unto the Lord and be not doubtful, self-righteous or have a closed mind. Live everyday knowing that the Holy Spirit is a connection between God and each and every one of us.
There is a very good chance that we will not live to see his coming in the clouds, at least not in our human form. Our spirits will await his arrival.
There is a definite falling away from the truth but take heart for Christ told us it was to come. Keep in mind that he knew of these things. He told us of them to prepare us. However he also told us no man knows the exact time of his coming. Not even Jesus but only the Father.
Live every day as a day unto the Lord and when you do slip and fall pray for forgiveness and he will forgive.
