I may have mentioned this before in one of my writings but it's worth saying again. One of my Mom's favorite sayings was, "Be careful what you pray for; You may get it. With all that is going on in the news it got me to thinking. Hense, I came up with this.

Oklahoma is flooded; there is wind and rain as far north as Minnesota and a Hurricane in the Gulf.  Drought has been plaguing part of the country while too much rain with wind has played havoc with other parts of the Country.

Here in my home town where those dry conditions had prevailed we have finally received some badly needed rain.  It’s a shame the same tropical storm that blessed us is the same storm responsible for flooding, damaged and lost homes and lives taken in other parts of the country.

I think my point here is when we ask God for something we have no idea whom it may be who pays for our prayers.  The rain was a blessing to us but certainly not to those living in Oklahoma or Minnesota.

Texas has been hard hit and we have only begun the infamous hurricane season.  It makes me wonder if I shouldn’t simply live with whatever comes my way.  After all if I pray, “Dear Lord send me rain,” this same rain may be something others are praying for him to stop.  Possibly we were truly meant not to ask for so much more than simple faith to live our lives while accepting whatever our tomorrows may bring.
