He had called ahead so I would be able to skip past the emergency room and go directly to admitting but that was not to happen. I pulled up into the parking lot of the hospital and when I turned my head to back my car up the whole world seemed to start spinning. I could not get out of the car like that. I would surely fall on my face. Likewise, I could not drive either. I would surely run into another car or someone walking past.
I made a few attempts in vain to get the attention of some people walking by but they kept walking. So I pulled out my cell phone and dialed 911. When the gentleman answered he asked if I wanted the police or an ambulance I simply answered.
I am in the parking lot outside the hospital and cannot get out of car. I am dizzy.
Within a few minutes some nurses; both male and female came running out. They were able to make the dizziness go away and put me on a stretcher and take me inside. So much for bypassing the emergency room.
Eventually they were satisfied that I had not had been a stroke and I was taken to my room where the nurses were kind and ready to help me. I thought I was coming home Sunday but when I tried to walk I realized that my right foot was swollen and so sore I could not even touch the floor let alone walk. I had an attack of Gout.
This was a real catastrophe because I wanted to come home. The girls had told me to get rest when I first came in but it seemed every hour or so someone was coming in to take my blood pressure or draw blood.
Finally, last evening the doctor came to tell me I was coming home. If you wondered where I have been
now you know.
