Don’t get me wrong!  I believe we do need affordable health care.  Prices are rising because big business is more concerned about its standing in the world market place than it is about our country.  We share in some of this.  We want lower prices but we are angry because they have gone to India and China to make the prices lower.  This means fewer jobs for Americans.

            We all use our automobiles daily.  How else can we get around?  The truth is the Earth can take only much of our selfish lifestyle before it is destroyed by it.  Hence our children’s' future is less attractive, maybe even doomed to destruction.

            We need to be asking what each of us can do to make things better.  We need to keep on the backs of our politicians and keep their hands out of silver-lined pockets.  We need people who will keep those idle promises that they now make each Election Day and then conveniently forget.

            Those promises should not be a gravy train for everyone.  They should be equality and they should encourage us to help one another.  We need to become active in not just simply asking but more importantly giving.

            I told my wife the other day that if the Republican Party were true to the original beliefs and standards of the Party when it was founded I would be a republican.  I don’t think spending money we don’t have is going to keep our country strong.  A company that does that goes bankrupt.  For that matter, a family who does that soon finds themselves so far in debt they lose their home and all they have.  The country is not so far above that.

            John Kennedy once said, “Ask not what your country can do for you.  Ask what you can do for your country!”  Let’s bring that back and build something positive on it.
