We celebrate the July Fourth holiday each year as a way of commemorating our nation’s birth. We stress our freedom of speech and have picnics, hot dog eating contests and fireworks.
It is too easy for us to forget the many who have given their lives to make all this possible.Let us think for a minute of the bravery of our founding fathers.Let us take time to recognize those who fought, many of whom gave their lives in World War I and World War II.Let us consider those who fought in Korea and Vietnam and whether you believe we should or should not be fighting in Iraq, pray for those young men and women.They are our sons and daughters.
The most wonderful thing about our country is that we each have a right to our opinion and we each have a right to express it.
Our number one responsibility is to be just that…. Responsible!
When you acknowledge the flag you are saying, I love my country.It may not be perfect but I can’t think of another country that I would rather live in.
