“FANNING THE EMBERS OF CREATIVITY” MARCH 15TH - 25TH, 2020

Creativity is chaotic, fickle, messy, and spooky. Sometimes it doesn’t show up when we summon it, and often it ignores our commands and our best efforts to subdue it. Yet it’s there, glowing somewhere deep within our subconscious, waiting for an opportunity to burst into flame.

 Are you an aspiring and/or struggling novelist?  Are you trying to identify and capture the stories that will make up your memoir?  Are you a blogger, looking for new material to challenge and inspire your followers?  Or are you a diarist, looking for new ways to gain insight from your journaling? If so, then a ten-day writing retreat in the exotic and historic Himalayan Mountain region of Nepal might be just what you – and your spirit – need.

Join novelist, writing coach, and former CNN journalist John DeDakis as he helps you unlock and bring into being the stories and characters lurking in your subconscious.

During your time together, he’ll lead a series of workshops designed to deconstruct and demystify the writing process. You’ll learn how to stay organized, how to create diverse characters, the art of rewriting, and how to overcome your writing and marketing fears.

Each day will include short writing assignments (during class and/or overnight), plus the opportunity to have your work critiqued.

There will be time to reflect, time to write, time to share, and time to add to your life experience as you immerse yourself in new and inspiring surroundings.

By the end of the retreat, you’ll be prepared to begin (or continue) work on a major writing project, and will be equipped with the skills to perfect it.
