Her name is Noor. In Arabic, it means "light." And she radiates it.
Talking with journalist and storyteller Noor Tagouri made my day today. Our conversation runs the emotional gamut.
"When you're a Muslim in America," she told me, "your identity is so politicized. Your relationship with it is often rooted in survival....I need optimism in order to keep putting one foot in front of the other. It's hope that I'm really contending with."
