Ok have I managed to pique your interest? Something tells me that all of you who have already published - be it self published or mainstream are now reading this very quickly!
All of you know that Spinetinglers Publishing has been set up - indeed many of you have entered our Spinetinglers Elite Publishing Competition - the deadline of which is midnight on Saturday the 6th of June 2006. However you're probably not aware that our publishing site, www.spinetinglerspublishing.com is due to go live probably next week, or the week after. On this site we have a book shop and a news section.
We are going to offer our Spiney members who have had us review their book, the choice of selling their book on our site and being featured on the site - even if you didn't publish through us, it doesn't matter. There will be a one off fee of £25.00 - this is for the life of your book or until you decide to stop selling it.
The reason we're offering this to all our members (even if you didn't publish with us) is because loyalty is a two way deal - you've stayed loyal to us and we're staying loyal to helping all of you. The sceptics out there will no doubt comment on the £25.00 one off fee - but to them I say - look around and find me another site who will advertise an author who didn't publish with them, another site that will proactively try to encourage the sales of that author for such a low one time fee. The reason we're charging the fee is to cover the admin costs involved in putting you on to the site. Sceptics look all you want you're not going to be able to find an offer which is anywhere near as good at anything close to this price.
At the moment we're simply finalising details and content, once this is completed we will be going live. We've been taking some extra time with this because we don't want the same problems to creep up on us as they did with Spiney.
I suppose I should tell you what you actually get for your £25.00. For this one off-fee we will sell your book on our site - you simply have to tell us the price - don't forget to include shipping and your commission. On top of your price we will add an additional £0.50 which is to cover our admin costs. When someone buys your book through the site we will notify you - or your publisher whichever you prefer and you or, your publisher ship the book to the customer. Doing it this way means that we can offer customers the chance to buy a signed copy (if you would like you can set a different price for a signed copy). Your book will remain on the site until you decide that you no longer want to sell it - there will never be another fee relating to that book - if you write more books obviously there would be a one-off fee for each one.
In addition to simply selling the book, our review of the book will be posted, we will feature your book and your review in our news section and we will ensure that you are featured on the home page of the site for a period of at least eight weeks - we may not run the eight weeks consecutively - it often works better if we split them up over a period of time.
All in all I think that this is a pretty good deal but I'm quite sure that you'll let me know what you think of it soon enough!
