Spreading My Wings
I was supposed to be practicing my Kegel exercises on a daily basis so my bladder would be somewhat under control later on. I confess that I remembered to do them about half the required time before surgery and soon after surgery, Imagine yourself urinating and in the middle of it, attempting to squeeze the muscles required to stop the flow. That would be a Kegel exercise.
I lapsed into sporadic efforts (I just can’t bring myself to say “periods”) of remembering to do this. It is supposed to be the quickest way to build the muscles needed to hold the bladder after a number of surgeries, including prostate cancer, which I underwent on June 5th.(BTW, subsequent tests indicate very likely I am now prostate cancer free. Hallelujah !!!.)
So, anyway, as a result of my negligence, or just as a result of the way things are, I have to wear “girlie” things. And guess what? I’m damn glad the girls have ‘em to wear. Until I get so I can completely control my bladder, with their help I’m spreadin’ my wings and takin’ flight, gaining strength and purpose by the hour. I hate to tell you this Arnold, but I guess I’m going to be a girlie man for a little while.
