Straight out of one of my local newspapers. Study: Their taxes lift state, but services drain counties!

     In chapter five of my book I mention the drain illegal immigration is having on all of our families and communities across the country. Your schools, hospitals and other infrastructures are being stretched very thin.
     This article was on the front page in big, bold print in the papers this morning. A two page spread that details the pros and cons of illegal immigrants, but they seem to overlook one very simple fact. They are simply breaking our laws and trashing what is left of our sovereignty.
     Why are we so afraid to pick them up, detain them for a short period and return them to their mother country? Please enter our country through legal recourse, as others before you did. Otherwise if you sneak across our borders you will be picked up and returned. If you are here illegally you do not belong, right?
     I, as many others, come from a family of immigrants. My family came here legally and made learning English their first priority. Anyway, let me give you the statistics that are printed in my local newspaper and then you draw your own conclusion.

1. The comptroller's report said roughly 1.4 million illegal immigrants cost the state $1.16 billion in services during fiscal 2005.
$968 million for education

$131 million for incarceration
2. The report also said those illegal immigrants paid $1.58 billion to the state in taxes.
$867 million in major consumption taxes and fees.
$582 million in school property taxes.
$61 million from the lottery.
$20 million for utilities.
$21 million in court costs.
$31 million in other taxes.

WHAT LOCAL GOVERNMENTS PAY
1. In 2005, illegal immigrants cost local governments.....
$1.3 billion in health care not paid by the state.
$142 million for incarceration.
2. Meanwhile, they paid local governments....
$513 million in city, county and special district sales and property taxes.
$930 million in uncovered spending.

*Remember these are individuals who are deliberately breaking the law. Could you plant yourself in any other country just because you want to? Think about it!
