Texas Guardsmen took van loads of immigrants for cash, officials say.....

    Here we go again! This is beginning to equate to a never ending horrifying nightmare! I had wanted to write about an article regarding retiring baby boomers, but guess that will have to wait another day or two.
   This one, which was in one of the many newspapers I go through each morning, just boggles the mind. Well, it boggles my mind anyway. It leaves me scratching my head in utter amazement!

   "u wanna do 1 2mrw? they suplyin da van," read one text message. 
   "tell them ill only do 1 run . no more than 20 people . $150.00 a person and i want 2 leave. 19:30 hours and ill go 2 San Anto if they want," came the response.
 
  "Those text messages and a routine traffic stop hours later resulted in the arrest of three Texas National Guardsmen who were assigned to help secure the border, but federal authorities say, were instead smuggling illegal immigrants for cash - some of them all the way to Dallas, TX."
   "Inside the van were twenty four illegal immigrants," agents said. Can you even imagine just how crowded and cramped they must have been?
   Still wondering why we just are not capable of securing our borders, whether on the southern border or the northern border? How can we possibly attempt to keep our fine country safe when our own troops are turning against us, in favor of the illegal immigrants. To think it is just for the sake of the Almighty Dollar and individual self gain!
   If you are like me you are probably thinking that this just cannot happen, but there it is, in big bold print on the front page of the newspaper. Are you wondering as I am? Are these young men the only three? Or are these the first group to be stopped and caught?
   Even if you choose to believe that this is the first run for these young men, you must agree it is not. It seems the three of them had this operation so well fine tuned at the time they were stopped. How many times have they repeated this nightly adventure? Exactly how many illegal immigrants have they helped cross into our country?
   Such a sad and depressing state of affairs this whole issue has become. Could there possibly be an end to all of this insanity before it becomes worse?
  "Two of the immigrants interviewed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents said they paid $1500.00 and $2000.00 each to be taken from Laredo, TX to Dallas, TX."
   If they are suppose to be so dirt poor and destitute, then where are they getting this kind of money from? Is it possible they are getting their hands on this much cash by working at jobs that we Americans no longer want? You know, like jobs that once, not too long ago paid $25.00 or $30.00 an hour plus benefits and now pay $8.00  an hour with no benefits on the horizon?
   "The three soldiers are being held by U.S. marshals on $75000.00 bond each. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for June 19, 2007 in Laredo, TX. Texas military forces will determine whether the men will be charged under military justice as well"
