Public's opposition to amnesty is bringing down bill..........

    I came across this little article and found it very interesting. The power of the American people, it seems, IS being heard up in Washington amongst the Congressmen and Senators.
    This was in one of my local newspapers and actually I was very surprised to even see it in print as I am very aware of the leanings of the mass media. Maybe because this is not about leanings, but what is right and what is wrong.
   "An amazing thing has happened on the road to bringing many millions of illegal aliens into the American polity: Amnesty has been, at least initially, defeated in our incoherent Congress."
   "Those who are working to keep amnesty out of any immigration legislation are a segment of the American people who are unorganized and without unity of detail, but mad as hell at the way the lobby paid and corporate attentive Congress wants to give the country away."
   "Indeed, they massively told Washington that they wanted what any civilized people want. Secure borders in a nation state and the right of the nation to choose its members and not be overwhelmed by people who break in."
    Well, there you go! See all of our voices are being heard, but I can not help but wonder if they are falling on deaf ears. Is arrogance running so wild that those we chose to lead are just ignoring us for the favors and money they are receiving for their next campaigns? Could it be as simple as this? Are those at the helm so full of greed that they do not care they are selling out our country?
    What will it take for them all to stop and ask the lobbyists and corporate heads to go home. It is time for common sense to rule and stop all this nonsense of the back and forth blame game.
    It is the people of this country collectively who keep this country running. The large corporations and the lobbyists are really only interested in what is in their own back pockets, nothing more and nothing less.
   "California's once pristine and uncrowded coast is now jam packed and noisy, its educational and health standards going down every year. Suburbs across the country are spreading into one another until there is no character left to any of them."
   "Planners on the East Coast now talk of one urban zone, spreading without pause for greenery, ponds or space to see the sky from Boston to New York to Baltimore, Washington and Richmond."
   "Is that really the country we want? And to have all these additional people only so that big corporations can make more money with cheap labor and avoid making the technological changes that would make this exploited labor unnecessary?
   Think about this because it affects us all, not just a chosen few. The how's, when's and why's in respect to our children of today and of the future are at stake.
   Again I say immigration is a good and welcome part of life, but illegal immigration will certainly tear the very foundation of this country to shreds.
