In a world where every where you turn or go, the media, the newspapers is portraying the decay of senseless killings and a increase in crime. It's usually blacks youths on black youths; this is an amazing phenomena to me, and something have to be done to reach these troubled youth from succumbing to a life of crime, and entering into death valley too soon. The call is for Black Men to step up to the plate, take action, get notice, and get involved to save the destruction of our youths.
BLACK AMERICAN MAN, GET BACK TO YOUR ROOTS....
This excerpt is in no way to cause controversy, or to place blame, as I know it will, but it is needed in the downfall spiral of our youth who are going towards death valley, with the many that went before them. Somebody, if anybody have to save them, why not, it be you!
This excerpt is from a book I am writing called "Black American Man," Get Back to Your Roots. I am not angry, I am a concern mother that grieves for our black youth that are desolated to destruction because they are missing a male figure in their lives, a role model, and a true man.
In the wake of politically warfare, minimal wages, a rise in unemployment, loss of afternoon programs, latch keys children left to singled mothers, and the absence of a man in the home; our black youths have become succumbed by the fiery darts... that so-long have held our forefathers bounded, chained, and these youths sometimes are referred to, as a menace to society; it's a wake-up call for our black men, to get back to the basic, and get down to their roots.
"He whispered in the raging night, with beads of sweat blocking his view, the wringing perspiration trickling down his face, his heart is palpitating, almost, as if it wants to beat out of his chest...his hands are trembling, ...he cries out in silence "father," in a panicky voice, "come help me," he said, "I need you, but you can't hear me, you don't care about me"...he began to reminisced, "that's why I'm here", racing between life and death, while the evil lurkers looks for me..."I'm hiding Dad, but you can't hear me."
That is the cries of so many young men that are racing between life and death, that are succumbed by the streets in search to find habitat in a place where society says, you must belong; but they are belonging to the wrong groups, Gangs. It is certain that blacks on crime has tripled since the "Million Man March"...but what happened after it was over; of course there was talk about all what they were going to do, and more talk of what needed to be done, but in meantime, the limp bodies lay in the morgue only to be identified by some hardworking mother. A mother that thought she was doing the best she could. She was holding down 2 jobs, to make ends meet. Yes, ends meet, and that is certain what most of them have said, "If I knew this was going to happened, I would have been home", but while they were trying to provide in an economy that leaves single women no choice, and while dead beat dads steer clear of paying child support, and having moral responsiblity, their young black boys ran rampant, while the mother tried to provide without.
So, Black American Man, what are you going to do to eradicate the problem that have become an epidemic, with 3-5 bodies in a week mounts in the morgues, waiting for that sad mother to identify.
What happened to all those things that were to take place after the revolution (MMM)...did it die, go by the wayside, or did it get caught-up in what we call "Corporate America". Have Black Men become so selfish that we are afraid to take to the streets, to start a movement to save our youths: or are we caught up in our attire, our BMW's, the club scene, the many women we can add to our address books; they're calling you, but you can't hear them. Have you taken the time to hear or reach one? It's time for a change, for these boys need role models, and not role models that shoot hoops, or get field goals, but men that are real, and who are not playing for money, not looking for recognition, but real Black Men who are in search to reach souls that want to ignite and bring about change to save our youths. What happened to the annual continutation of the "Million Man March," did that die too?
Do you realized that every second a black boy is gunned down, to ever be more.

The NCIA said, "During the twelve years we examined (1985 to 1997), the U.S. prisoner population more than doubled from 502,376 to 1,240,962. Nationally, non-whites accounted for 70 percent of this growth in state and federal prisons. "The number of blacks and Hispanics behind bars grew 180 percent from 1985 to 1997 compared with only 102 percent for Anglo whites.
Did it ever occur to you...BOYS as young as 12 are carrying firearms in areas of South London where arguments that begin in the playground are ending in shoot-outs.
Where are leaders that once reigned "WE SHALL OVER-COME." The time is now Black American Man, to get back to your roots, and make a stance. Our young men need direction, and that direction depends on your input.
Just think about this, with the amount of churches we have on each corner, if we can get one man from each street to form afternoon programs, outings, trips, develop education programs, and come together, you can provide positive outlets for these troubled youths, change can make a difference and if one young black male is deterred from the streets, then it is all the worth wild.

3 cheers, the reading of your article rattled and rippled through my heart for I know it is true. Sad, sad, sad!! Yes, where are the Black American Men~perhaps they are watching the latest sporting event, who really knows. Where ever they are they are quite possibly somewhere avoiding and running away from their responsibilities. I said it once, and will say it again, if these woman would stop taking rolls in the hay that should stop some procreations right there. In other words know the man, be friends with the man, give some time to see what type of man this person is that could be the future father to be before getting to some nitty gritty. Then of course let that lead to marriage, but we both know people are so busy trying to get busy, and engage in unprotected intimacy that before they even know they are left with a fatherless child to rear. Although, this scenario happens to many woman and or men regardless of race, religion, or any other specifics.
