The Light Flicker, the Trumpet Sounded, and Angels opened the Golden Gates to Heaven, and The Legend was Whispered Away.
It wasn't long ago that a little boy dared to dream in the countryside of Augusta, Ga his dreaming resulted in a music career that would open the doors to entertainment for many blacks, that dared to dream also. I grew up with James Brown, imitating him with my sister while we entertained my mother.
James Brown was called home Christmas Day after battling with pneumonia, two days after admitting himself into the hospital, he died of heart failure. The untimely death could not have come too soon for a man that has made his mark in society. His music was also admired and listened to by all nationalities. He was to entertain in New York for the New Year.
James Brown had his shortcomings, but his music super-cedes his mishaps with the law. He has touched the lives of many and allowed blacks to appreciate their ethnicity. He is a legend, he is the Godfather of Soul and he will be missed; and for some that will forget his name as time goes on I am sure his songs like, "I Feel Good, Say it Loud, I'm Black and I'm Proud, and Try Me" his music will always be a melody humming in our hearts.
So long my Legend, so long my Godfather, Rest for you have ran a good race, and I applaud and thank you for such a long music history I will never forget.
My prayers for his family during this time.
Farewell James Brown, sleep well.

"The Godfather of Soul, Dead at 73. (1933-2006)"
I liked him and he was a trial blazer as far as I am concerned.
No one could touch him not back in the day.
He will always be remembered in my book!
