Gerald Ford 1913-2006, was our 38th President, but a leader in His own right.

Gerald Ford was called home December 26 2006. Gerald Ford was a great leader, even during the nation's turmoil with the Watergate scandal, he was able to weather the storm and smooth the edges and to bring confidence in the arena of politics.

Ford, who was the nation's oldest living former president, had been hospitalized at least four times this year, in January for treatment of pneumonia; in July because of shortness of breath; in August, when he received a cardiac pacemaker and had angioplasty to increase blood flow; and in October, for more testing.

President Ford was a great American who gave many years of dedicated service to our country. He assumed the presidency in an hour of national turmoil and division.With his quiet integrity, common sense and kind instincts, President Ford helped heal our land and restore public confidence in the presidency.

He will always be remembered for his International policies and His leadership.
