“Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:13-14 KJV). Earlier this year I wrote an article, “Preparing For The New”, which stated that preparation time is the foundation of what will usher us from one place to the next. One thing that is a part of this process is “letting it go.” What is it? Anything and everything that will hinder, distract or misdirect you from what is before you and awaiting your arrival.

          The title of this article was revealed to me as I was in a situation where I was attempting to defend myself or offer an explanation concerning events that had occurred. At that moment, I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Let It Go.” Of course, I continued, and again I heard the words, “Let It Go.” After the second time, I obeyed. I did not realize that an article would come out of these three words. I found that there are many things that I must let go, but I must first acknowledge them and the places where they are being held.

          Letting it go is easier said than done. A change is required in two major areas, the mind and the heart. The mind holds the thoughts that we dare not speak as well as other vain imaginations that are contrary to the Word, will and purpose of God. If these thoughts are not cast down, they will enter into heart, the womb of production, manifesting the visual evidence due to the activity of the flesh.

          Conditions of the world have conditioned the mind to think and act as if we are still in the world system. This is an area in which Believers constantly are in a battle as the enemy does not want to give up any territory that he occupies. The born again experience renews and reconciles our spirit back to God, but the mind must be changed by constant meditation of the Word. If we cast down the thoughts that are sent by the enemy and start mediating on the Word, then we will be in position to receive strategic thought that are released by the Holy Spirit.

          The enemy uses time to hold you captive in these places. Since time is linear, he uses it to progressively produce conflict of you against yourself.  It is you against you. It is who you are in the natural against who you are in the spirit. “This is what we know: the law comes from the spiritual realm. My problem is that I am of the fallen human realm, owned by sin, which tries to keep me in its service. Listen, I can’t explain my actions. Here’s why: I am not able to do the things I want; and at the same time, I do the things I despise.” (Romans 7:14-15, The Voice).  In order to overcome, our spirit must have the Word to become stronger to override and overrule for the evidence of change. Holding on can be cancerous and infectious, slowly preventing the purpose of God from manifesting in your life. The Holy Spirit is needed to help us in this because of the things that a deeply embedded that we do not know about in the heart. A hurt in the heart leads to a hurt in the mind and vice versa. Erroneous perception which is deception can keep you trapped in a cycle. Confront, conquer and move on.

          The mind is a wealthy place. As we are made in the image and likeness of God, our thoughts form and produce. That is why the enemy is constantly after the mind of a Believer. He wants to use your mind to produce for him.

          Letting it go is a part of the purification process so that we can come closer to the Father. “He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the priests, the sons of Levi, and refine them like gold and silver, that they may offer to the Lord offerings in righteousness.” ( Malachi 3:3 AMP). The closer call requires nothing less to enter in. Our resistance to letting it go places limitations and delays the Lord’s plan for us. You have to be prepared to enter the king’s chamber. The book of Esther describes a twelve month process of purification for preparation to enter into the king’s presence. During the first six months of the process, oil of myrrh, a principal ingredient of holy oil for cleansing, is used. The second six months, sweet spices and perfumes are used. This whole process is working on the flesh. One year of preparation to be positioned for the king to call. Now is time to be in preparation to position ourselves for a new experience with the Lord.  Remember that this process is for the sons of Levi to draw near to the Lord to present offerings.

          In the book of Ezekiel, there are three scriptures that give reference to the Zadok, of the sons of Levi, coming near to the Lord to minister unto Him; Ezekiel 40:46, 43:19 and 44:15-16. “As for the Levitical priests who are the descendants of Zadok—the ones who took care of My holy place even as the rest of Israel strayed—they will draw near to Me and serve Me. They will stand before Me in the sanctuary and present offerings of fat and blood. They are permitted to enter My sanctuary, draw near to My holy table, and accomplish all that priestly service requires.” (Ezekiel 44:15-16, The Voice). The Lord is beckoning those who He has called to this position to be in His presence to minister to Him and draw near to the holy table. The Message version says “They’re the only ones to approach my table and serve me, accompanying me in my work.”

God needs His Believers in the earth for His plan to be accomplished. Now is the time for the mark of distinction. Letting go positions and propels us into that distinction. The signs, wonders, and miracles will become prevalent and there will be no denying the power of God in the earth. Many wait outside the doors, which are high and majestically adorned with many jewels. As the doors open, the glory beams through mightily. At the first touch, you fall, lost in His presence as the splendor of His glory covers you. How can you move? How can you speak? The weight of His glory will be beyond comparison of anything that you have experienced. After this, there will be no question about your true identity. “Lord, cleanse me from everything and anything that would hinder me from coming closer into your presence so that I may serve and minister unto you for the completion of the assignments that you have ordained for me in the earth. Make me again another. Remove all of the sticks and stones of the enemy that have been sitting over time preventing me from coming into the new with you.”

“Arise and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause you to hear My words. Then I went down to the potter’s house, and behold, he was working at the wheel. And the vessel that he was making from clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he made it over, reworking it into another vessel as it seemed good to the potter to make it.”

“Arise from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!”
