(2) I AMS + (3) I WILLS

            Many of us have favorite scriptures that have been the strength to carry us through various times and situations in life. Some of these are foundations that keep us steady. It is the Word of God that is a fortified deposit that comes to mind just when we need it. These scriptures are a part of an arsenal that provide stability and fortitude to make our foreheads like flint.

          There is a scripture that I have stood on for decades through this adventurous journey, as I found it during a time of transition that completely changed my life. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10 KJV.

          Recently, as I was posting one morning, I saw something different. It is amazing how we can read a scripture that we have read for years and get a new revelation. I would say that I saw something new with the ‘eyes of faith’. I saw promises in the form of two I AMS and three I WILLS.

          In the first part of the scripture, the Lord says to “fear not.” He says this because that is what the enemy is sending to distract and move you off course. The Lord is saying don’t be afraid no matter what may appear to be happening, because I AM with you. Remember in Exodus 3:14, when Moses wanted to know what to say about who was sending him to the children of Israel for their deliverance. “And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM.” He is the same God and He has not changed that name, even though He has many others He wants His people to know Him by.

          Next, He says “do not be dismayed.” Dismay is when one is distressed, anxious and even shaken up to the point of alarm. This is when one has to be careful of their emotions, especially if there are major decisions to be made for transition. He says I will strengthen you. “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” Psalm 73:26. Even though I may become weak in the mind and body, God will strengthen me to overcome.

          It is a good thing to know that you have help as we walk the path of life. Many things, scheduled and unscheduled, happen on the path, but we have back up that is even unseen. God is our back up and he even provides angelic assistance. “For He will command His angels in regard to you, To protect and defend and guard you in all your ways of obedience and service.”  Psalm 91:11 AMP.

          The right hand of the Lord does many things. “Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power; Your right hand, O Lord, shatters the enemy.”  Exodus 15:6 AMP. His right hand rescues. “Wondrously show Your marvelous and amazing lovingkindness, O Savior of those who take refuge at Your right hand From those who rise up against them.” Psalm 17:7 AMP. His right hand is the saving strength that is needed. “But look at this: You are still holding my right hand; You have been all along.” Psalm 73:2 VOICE.

          The Lord is not only supporting and defending you as He upholds you, but He is lifting your head so that you can see that your help is right there with you and even more unseen is available. Don’t look around at what is happening. That is the wrong direction. Look up and keep moving past everything that attempts to stand in your way.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.
What can mere man do to me?
