There are so many things that are occurring in the form of the spirit of chaos, that there is no other option but to draw closer than ever before to the Holy Spirit. Now is not the time to be caught in the enemy’s plan of the drift. This is the time that we, the children of God, are being called into a more intimate fellowship with the Holy Spirit. It is in that place, in His presence that we will be refreshed, revived and refocused.

          Time has caused many to become relaxed in our present state, unaware that the enemy is subtly causing the drift. We need to respond to the call of the wooing of the Holy Spirit. The word draw is defined as to move in a direction out of a resting place to a place that attracts. The attraction, the draw has the element of desire which leads to a renewed passion. He is calling out to us to call us in closer.

“Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” James 4:8 KJV.  He is waiting for us to come close so that He came come closer than ever before. This is a new place in Him. It is imperative that we seek Him and want more than what we have already obtained in our walk. We have no other option or plan that will work without Him. “When you come looking for me, you’ll find me. “Yes, when you get serious about finding me and want it more than anything else, I’ll make sure you won’t be disappointed.” Jeremiah 29:13 MSG.

Is there a longing for Him that cannot be explained in mere words? This yearning of the deep as the Holy Spirit calls to your spirit is to come away with Him as you are His beloved. There is no satisfaction for you until you yield to the call and He has your full attention. “O God, You are my God; with deepest longing I will seek You; My ^[soul, my life, my very self, thirsts for You, my flesh longs and sighs for You, In a dry and weary land where there is no water.” Psalm 63:1 AMP.

The drift is a slow change in direction. It is such a small change that is not intentional, but you are unaware. This is a cunning device of the enemy. Boats will slowly drift off course if the captain is not paying careful attention to maintain his heading. If you are not anchored you will be caught in the drift, especially during a storm.

Couples may slowly drift apart in their relationship. A Believer may slowly drift off to sleep in church. Drifting in this case is for you to miss the Word that is being preached, which is what you needed. None of these things are intentional. They happen without any warning. Close observation is absolutely necessary to become aware of what is happening. Churches also can drift away from sound doctrine while individual believers drift away from God in their relationship with Him. Don’t let the enemy be effective in this as he will wage war against you. He wins one little battle at a time until he has won the war.

Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face continually, longing to be in His presence.

It’s crucial that we keep a firm grip on what we’ve heard so that we don’t drift off.
