Don’t Neglect The Gift
Have you ever heard the words, “neglect not the gift’? Well, recently it happened to me. I immediately thought about the gift that the Lord has given me to write. Many questions flooded my mind concerning the purpose and passion that I have. I know and understand that this is a gift, and I want to honor the Lord. I do not and cannot do this alone. It became a time of self-examination.
“Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, that special endowment, which was intentionally bestowed on you by the Holy Spirit through prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands on you at your ordination.” 1 Timothy 4:14 AMP. There are many who have received gifts that are not in operation for some reason or another. They may have started and along the path of life and became distracted or discouraged. It is important to know that whatever the gift is, you were chosen, and it is intentionally given to you to display the glory of God in the earth so that all will recognize and know that it is all God.
Recently, I saw a troop of mighty men of God dancing in a service. Their movements we so very powerful. I thought about how David danced in 2 Samuel 6:14. The Bible says that he “danced before the Lord with all his might.” He was dancing because the Ark of the Covenant was returning to Israel after he heard that it was in the house of Obed-Edom for three months. And God blessed them tremendously during that time. A lot of times we see and have grown accustomed to thinking that dancing for the Lord is reserved for women.
I have a friend who was anointed to dance over fifteen years ago and has since stopped. He had no formal training. There was one song in particular that he would dance to and presence of God would be so heavy in the atmosphere. It was like it was his signature song. This person is so gifted that he plays the keyboard and all of the manifestation of his gifts came through the laying on of hands and the prophetic word. I would call him each time I heard the song. Is the gift still there? I would say yes, but he would have to take the step of faith to shake off what has been used by the enemy to hold him down. Time to soar and fly.
If there is a gift that has been given to you and you laid it down, pick it up and run with it. It may just be your season to shine, and the favor of God be upon you. Let the gift be ARMed for the release. A=activation by the Holy Spirit. R= revealed, time to show that which is hidden and the purpose. M=manifestation, the appointed time to bring into existence that which is within for the glory of God.
For many are called, invited, summoned, but few are chosen.
Matthew 22:14 AMP
For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable for He does not withdraw what He has given, nor does He change His mind about those to whom He gives His grace or to whom He sends His call. Romans 11:29 AMP
You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you, so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit will remain and be lasting, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name [as My representative] He may give to you.
John 15:16 AMP
