We were sitting at a table at the big window in the Sanctuary drinking cold beer. Several empty cans were on our table.

"Sex sex sex," my friend was saying. She already had two degrees and was working on a third one. "That's all you men ever think about."

"It's not all we think about. But it is what gets men and women together in the first place."

"No it's not," she said. "I thought you knew so much about women. And I'll tell you something else, too. No matter how good it is sex won't keep a couple together, either. Not for long."

"Have you ever known a married couple with a lousy sex life?" I said.

"Have you ever known one with no life outside of sex?" she said.

I think we were both a little drunk. I looked through the window at the buildings, the cars parked along the street and at the people passing by. Inside, the Sanctuary was pleasantly dim and cool. Outside it was a hot, bright, lovely August afternoon. The students weren't back yet.

"So what's the solution?" I asked.

"Guy, darling, what makes you think there is one?"

I was hooked after the first sentences: 'Life is art'. Good dialogue I laughed out loud at the ending.

Guy, she ask me "hei Joe, you want good time?", my name wasn't Joe but we had a good time, three months wandering in the mud was enough to make any time a good time, even when you had a few pieces of shrapnel taken from your ass.
Thanks for the memories.

Great ending to this, Guy. Very strong, a bit like a fable. I liked it.
