Lexus Dealship is aware of the situation! That means: anyone can be a victim -- anywhere -- anytime -- anyplace when the Computer is set to stop. That is: built in obsolescence.

As promised, AAA took my car to the dealership. When I arrived that afternoon, I was told the news:

"The computer must be replaced. It will be $1700.00. We have a car ready for you and will call you when the repair is completed."

There I was AGAIN, back into the Twilight Zone.

"Excuse me, are you telling me that the computer shuts down the car without any warning?"

He compared it to other car parts that can render the vehicle powerless -- without warning.

"Excuse me, I have been driving cars for 41 years, I worked with prototypes and vendors at Automotive Assembly Division - Ford Motor Company - Dearborn, Michigan for 13 years.

I have never been in any type, model or year of car that did not give some warning: smoke, jerking, noise, unusual sound, red lights on dash, etc. indicating a WARNING of a situation.

Does anyone know about this? Is this a secret that you don't find out until you are victim of ignorance because you never warned this could ever happen."

I said I will advise seniors - especially women who travel long distances by car. I have driven 3 times to Detroit. Imagine if I was in the hills of Tennessee on a mountain curve and the car died?

I told him, I will let the people know of the secret and find out if anyone else knows.

I was given the Service Manager's phone number.

If you know about this, please advise.

If you had to replace the computer in your car, please let me know.
