There is a National Back Order on the new Computer! Why? built-in-obsolescence!

The dealership called and left me a message: "Ms. Dunn, this is Brian from Lexus of Tampa Bay, the part you need is on National backorder-it is going to come out of Japan. As soon as I know more information, I will contact you. In the meantime, please use the loaner car. If that's problem, please get back with me.

I have no problem with waiting, maybe I will even be able to save $1700 by the time the Japanese send the new computer BRAIN arriving already PRESET for the next MANDATORY update or replacement -- built in obsolescence.

Built-in-obsolescence = predetermined
period of time -- controlled and preset by the manufacturer, requiring repair/replacement of a particular part or service that only the Lexus DEALERSHIP can repair/replace the part ONCE they receive it from the supplier in Japan.

So, if the brain goes out, only the dealership can service and repair this computer -- which means -- there is absolutely no value in owning a car because if you are NOT making a payment::: you still need additional money to keep your car running -- this is a huge chunk of change:: $1700 for a 1996 Lexus SC300 new computer.

Why can't the computer be updated; upgraded; added memory or whatever it needs.

Why should the consumer have to purchase another expensive part that is absolutely going to require replacement or upgrade?

Why? Now you know the future plan of USA Dealerships and Japanese Automotive suppliers.

Remember when a mechanic could fix your car at the gas station? Well, those days are over for everyone that has computerization included in their vehicle BRAIN.

WE MUST go to the dealership once the computer dies and upgrade/replace it every time the built-in-obsolescence activates.............
Or get a new car and replace it before the 100,000+ miles or whatever the predetermined built-in-obsolescence strikes your particular model car.

Pray hard that the brain doesn't go kaput -- while you are driving alone, at night, on dead mans curve -- off ramp AND NO police or AAA Emergency show up to assist you while you are in fear of your life.

Panic attack, asthma and claustrophobia being squelched to the pit of my stomach! Pretending I was in NO position to be slaughtered while being hit like a cue ball by a car, bus, van or truck at any given moment -

Just maybe they will build in a safety alarm that warns you -- FLASHING ****your car is brain dead and will dysfunction within the next 300 miles or 150 miles or whatever allows safe timing for anyone who travels long distances****

Great safety feature to know exactly when will the car be brain dead?

Does the computer have a warranty?

How much does your dealer charge to upgrade your computer OR is your computer too old to be upgraded -- therefore, you MUST buy a NEW computer or your car will not run!

Driving was much saver when there was no brain and keeping a car until it was a classic was feasible. Now What?
