Gave and take - “A living existence”

Life is a cycle of reflection, forever recycling into meaning and understanding, not just a physical life – but one existence of living without ceasing to exist. Built into the cycle of living is gave and take. At this point, some might say I have that wrong it is give and take. We are talking about reflection rather than doing. Seeing it done with an opportunity in physical life to understand changes made and how they affect a new outcome, through the gave and take already a part of who we are. Observance is the reflecting pool of our eyes, heart, mind and soul working together to understand new endings of the take and receiving of the gave.

I went into work today and was given a task to be done, in partnership with another young girl. Five minutes later, she disappeared and I completed the take in parts, hers, and mine. Shortly thereafter, she reappeared offering to do the cleanup of the task. I told her I would complete what needed to be done and after her insistence, I relented and let her follow through with that part of the task. Without physically saying a word, she proceeded to paint a picture through her actions, that she had completed her task and even though she did not take credit, she did not deny credit either and was given a reprieve from any further projects for the day. I really was not interested either way, and just let it be. I had gave the task completion regardless of credit being given. A short time later, another co-worker who had observed the work done and was unaware of the credit taken became infuriated at the supervisor when kudos where given to a person who silently absorbed credit in silence and untruth. Attempting to explain on my behalf, which she felt necessary to wrong a right. I stayed silent and observed the interaction of a gave and take moment of reflection between the three of them. Even though I gave, she did the take, once again, the cycle provided for all of us to gave and take another dynamic of the creation of events. Life, for every gave, you will take something from the experience, event or moment continually whether in the same regard, or replayed in a new scenario.

Often, people will say I give and give and give and do not take, untrue . Each time you observe or reflect on what was gave, you have taken a moment of understanding. One – cannot be done without the other following the cycle in some form. This is the basis of how we derive meaning in our life. Yesterday in Arizona, a young man proceeded to take and alter many lives in a few moments time, as he gave us heroes not only in those who brought him to the ground saving more lives, but compassion for the victims which was furthest from his mind as he created the carnage of his act. Reading an article on cnn.com, it told how Christina Green was born on a day of tragedy and left this world on a day of tragedy as well. Being born on 09/11/01 as the world was shocked by twin towers, and leaving on 01/08/11 as the victim of a shooting. Both numbers ironically add up to 9/11. A call for emergency majors to be taken. She and others, including the congressional representative from Arizona became an event of gave and take. Lives being lost or altered in the gave, and as a world we have to decide one person at a time the take of this day and how it will either alter our life or leave us to continue a cycle of violence either supported or non-supported in crediting human life in crediting ourselves with the gift of understanding and meaning of change.

We are not a world without heart; we are a world, which pulls together in times of crisis, beyond wars, greed, and ego. From Haiti, the miners in Chili, the gulf coast oil spill, and many more we are a world of compassion, which becomes clouded in, gave and take, though not clouded in compassion – hearts at work coming together for others. We gave and then have taken memories which will not cease to exist, or should those who paid with shortening a physical existence ever, cease to exist as they gave so we make take ourselves to be a better part of humanity than what was without forgetting the joy, sorrow, heroes and universal complexity at times in your one living experience, without beginning or end, only gave until our decision to take leave and renew the eye of the cycle again.
