Only Nine Months??


Lets get real. When we elected a new president did we expect a messiah? Did we expect eight years of lies and mismanagement to just disappear with a wave of one man’s hand? Did we expect Obama to say “Be Healed” and all the disease of our times would go away?

Our country has been in trouble for a very long time. Many think they know how to fix it but if the load of that repair was on your shoulders, honestly, would you know what to do? Desperate times call for desperate measures and that’s what has had to be done, desperate measures.

Am I happy with everything that’s going on? Obviously not, I'm just downright angry at the treatment of Vets in this country and the obvious deaf ear and blind eye that government has turned on them, but I do know that something has to be done or America is going to self destruct from the inside out. Maybe some of the decisions Mr. Obama makes will be wrong but maybe some of them, hopefully enough of them, will be right and we will begin to see better times at last.

I am just flabergasted at all the ridiculous rumors that surround Mr. Obama, like... he's a Muslim, he's not an American, he's a socialist, he's a Black supremist, he's out to kill grandma and grandpa.

I can not for the life of me see how “End of Life Plan” to some means assisted suicide or involuntary euthanasia! How on Earth did some arrive at the conclusion that human life will be saved or snuffed out by so called “Death Panels”? Wouldn’t you like to have a voice in what happens to your body when your mind is no longer functional? Wouldn’t you like to know that you will be allowed to pass over as painlessly as possible, without what the medical profession calls “Heroic Measures.” Well if you would then you should have an end of life plan so your wishes will be carried out. Get past the ultra conservative hype and fear mongering and find out what phrases in the bill really mean. People are in dread that they will lose their Medicare when in actuality Medicare will be increased!

Let's give our president a chance before we decide to execute him. He's only been in office less than nine months. It takes nine months to deliver one human baby, surely it will take more than nine months to deliver a nation. In the whole scheme of things nine months is not a drop in the bucket of time.

If you want a messiah he hasn’t returned to Earth yet. What we have is a man who, like the rest of us, is dealing with tough issues, trying to find solutions. Making mistakes but being crucified at every crossroads because he just isn’t divine enough to be perfect. Are those who see only fault taking time to pray for the leaders of this country or are you just too busy driving in the nails?
