In a dysfunctional family somebody has to bear the blame.

Are You The Family Scapegoat? 15 Ways To Know

Others in the family are treated better than you, in all ways

Invitations are not given to you for certain activities

You are made the brunt of hate and jokes

You feel constantly disrespected, silenced and left out

You are blamed for all the problems in the family

Often the faults and mistakes of others are blamed on you

You are told how much better things could have been without you

You are accused of things you didn't do

You are slandered to extended family, friends and acquaintances

You are secretly slandered and never allowed to defend yourself

You find yourself often biting your tongue rather than cause arguments

If you dare to differ in opinion, you are attacked and silenced

I'm the guy that put the "func" in dysfunctional, but I could never have survived inside your list of 15 deadly sins. Ron H. still believes that every writer writes only about him or herself. 'taint so.

I don't know how to relate to this because I have not experience anything like it, the way you describe it. Really hard for me to understand that you, a mother of your children with all of your love for nature, animals and children, I believe, would find yourself treated badly by your own offspring. It's quite rare. Love for one's mother is hard to kill.

In my family it has only been political. Otherwise, we are on each other's side when trouble comes up in the family. It's always been that way. Even for my extended family. But we don't see each other on a daily basis, and that I think, is a good thing.

I know all this oh too well. What I found was true self esteem that gave me the power within to truly overcome. You are precious and loved by many and by Almighty God and that is all you need and will ever need. You are an overcomer

I certainly hope that the 'you' in these 15 descriptions is only a remembrance of days gone by, and that you are not still a victim of this kind of despicable lowbrow condemnation. Some people are just freaking cruel. Thanks for the honesty. Take care. r
