A Personal Fox
There's a fox in my yard! I've seen him on
the cc-camera. It was semi dark so I can't
tell if he's gray or red. He was standing
majestically, showing no inclination to run
away. I've been sending telepathic
messages to him, to let me see him in
person. I hope he's listening. Since the
first time I saw a fox, as a little girl they
have enchanted me. I found out later, in
Native American style, fox is my spirit
animal. Foxes and I definitely have a
bond.. Foxes often appear in my paintings
and in my dreams. I think they are one of
the most beautiful of creatures and
certainly smart enough to survive under
the most trying circumstances. I'm hoping
my fox returns soon and I'm present in the
yard when he appears.

I feed about a dozen feral cats at my apt complex. One evening, I noticed a rather large "cat" sitting about 40 feet away, watching the cats consume their nightly dinner. When they were done eating, the "cat" moved in closer and then I could tell it was a fox. He looked up at me, then ignored me while picking the leftovers. I started talking to him, and he squinted at me like he wanted friendship more than food.
I went back into the kitchen to get some food for him, but he was trotting away when I got back. I leave a bunch of food out later for the midnight rambler cats, and it is always gone by morning. Not sure if the fox appears later now to consume the food, but I would like to think he is getting at least some of it.
I am thinking of getting a ring camera and setting it up over the outdoor dining area for the cats, and then monitoring it from my phone to see if he does come back at night. You are right, foxes are cool!
