Does the ages of certain police officers matters in the specific crimes they commit? Does time on the job matters? Who's the most dangerous, young or old?

The title and subtitle of this article I must admit may cause one to scratch their heads and asked, "has Robert gone insane"?  Well I haven't yet, because you may be surprise to learn there exist correlations not only between young cops and older cops and crime, but even the time they have spent on the police force correlates with specific crimes! What?

Remember the criminologist I introduced you to a few days ago by the name of Mr. Philip Stinson? Well if you recall, I mentioned that he is one of very few people that I know that collects technical information and compare data about bad police officers and their crimes. Not only their crimes, but I've seen a complete breakdown of all the variables, such as age comparisons, time on the job, genders, and many other factors.

 I also mentioned that much of his scientific data is in the preliminary stages, meaning a time period of 18 months ( that's long to us but not to a scientist ). Mr. Stinson will have a final report within the next two years. There are some tentative conclusions that I feel I can reveal to give you a clue to this problem according to his preliminary data. 

You may go to bottom of my bio page to see Mr. Stinson's qualifications, but in a nutshell he's the managing editor of the criminal justice policy review, holds about three degrees in criminal disciplines, including a law degree (yes he's an attorney) and a criminologist.  Oh, I forgot to mention, he's an ex police officer as well!

Mr. Stinson collected data on a total of 695 police officers in the United States. About 95% were men and 5% female. They came from 449 various police agencies such as state, municipal, tribal, etc.  They ranged in age from 20 - 64 years. There years of service was up to 36 years on the police force. All of these police officers were arrested between January 1, 2005 - June 30, 2006 (an unbelievable amount of police arrests huh?).

Now here's the preliminary answers concerning young and old cops and time on the job when it comes to one crime, a crime all females fear the most, Forcible Rape. Yes many police officers have been arrested for rape. 

According to the data,  police officers between the ages of 28-31 are arrested more often than any other age group for forcible rape. They have an average time of only two (2) years on the force!

Amazing huh? The young ones with very little time are dangerous when it comes to rape. Please keep in mind the older ones commit rapes also.

According to the data., police officers from 52- 64 have been arrested with as much as 20 years of service as an officer! We are talking forcible rape!

 Let me use an actual arrest case. Remember all are innocent until proven guilty.

A Fulton County Jury has charged Atlanta Police Officer Wilson Cartaffin with child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes ( you know what that means right? ) Okay, they also report that the child was only 12 years old!  Here goes... the officer was 42 years of age and was a 16 year veteran! It's right in line with the data.

Here is another one ( I can literally go all day with these types of cases ). New York Police Officer Trent Young is accused of raping a 15 year old girl. His age...39 years with 9 years on the force! Just google " police officers arrested", you'll be amaze! Thousands of pages of officers arrested.

Now I know many of you who are "trackers" of my articles have heard me say many times that I believe the most dangerous cops are the young ones with 2 years of service. My guess is in line with the data for two reasons.

First, I SAW with my own eyes police officers engaging in many crimes when I was an officer. Secondly, the more important reason... I was arrested as a police officer at the age of 24 with about 2 years on the force! It wasn't rape but I still was arrested. (my insane and despicable former life and the reason why I denounce all bad cops).


Look I'm only trying to enlighten all of you that bad police officers violate citizens daily. Be educated, don't just assume because it's a cop that you can trust him. Trust no cop until that trust is earned and clearly evident.

Also, when engaging with any law enforcers, such as police officers, constables, sheriffs, state police, and FBI agents, try to always be near witnesses, well lighted areas, and places where there are cameras. I don't even trust a game warden!
