A&E Television airs a weekly and sometimes daily show called First 48. It's a show highighting how police departments investigates crimes, usually murders or shootings, and that their best time for solving the crime is within the first 48 hours, hence it's name!
I believe many of you should watch this show for a good reason. Now you know, if you've been reading my many articles that I'm against crime, but this show highlights some investigative tactics that are detrimental to an innocent person. Emphasis is on innocent!
I'm not attempting to assist a law breaker, but I know they read also. My first loyalty is to my readers though, so I must assist them at the expense of the guilty!
Many of the detectives, as they questioned you, attempt very hard to try and get you to "confess". They already assumed that if they are questioning or have arrested you, you must be guilty.
They used terms like " come on, get this out of your system", or " if you confess, you'll feel better". One of my favorites is " I don't think you meant to shoot and kill him, maybe it was a accident".
You should see me as I watch this show. I'm yelling at the television, screaming, saying shut up, shut up! I believe this is how I will die, looking at this show! You never hear them say " if you did this crime, confess ". Remember, police investigators have mortgages, car notes, bills, and college kids. This is a job to them, but this is your life!
This is why I say to all of you innocent arrested citizens, you should always ask for an attorney! Don't talk, period! You have a right not to incriminate yourself!
Another thing they say to each other, is when you wish to exercise your constitutional rights and say " I want an attorney". They called this lawyering up! They absolutely hate this! They know then that if they have nothing on you, they have no case.
So make them angry, show them you're smart, always, when questioned by police and you're innocent...lawyer up! I know they hate me now (smile)! But the founding fathers love me!
